Who should consider programs offered by the Global Outreach and Extended Education at ASU?

Programs are designed for engineering professionals who work full-time and need flexible online education options from a leading engineering school.

Why distance learning?

Can I get my Master's degree online?

Yes. We offer several degree programs online, and will be expanding our offerings in the upcoming semesters. Current offerings can be reviewed at ASUEngineeringOnline.com.

Is my degree different from an on-campus student at ASU?

No. Students are no different from on-campus ASU engineering graduate students. The same requirements and curriculum apply, so your degree will be from the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at ASU. View our Accreditation.

What other options does GOEE offer for degree-seeking professionals?

Through accelerated, night and weekend programs, GOEE offers a variety of methods for students to study and work. These options can be reviewed at ASUEngineeringOnline.com.

How do I apply to ASU Engineering for Graduate Studies?

Students interested in pursuing graduate studies in engineering should review the policies and guidelines as listed in each degree program's description at ASUEngineeringOnline.com in the online degree programs section. Each program has unique requirements which should be carefully reviewed. Engineering professionals seeking graduate engineering degrees may wish to contact the Center for Professional Development at the Ira A. What are the application deadlines?

These following are the suggested application deadlines to provide ample time for transcripts to be received, application and additional documents to be reviewed and for an admission recommendation to be processed before the start of the semester. If you have any questions regarding the application process, please let us know.

  • Fall Semester: July 1st
  • Spring Semester: November 15th
  • Summer Semester: March 15th
How do I register?

Enrolled students may register for courses through Global Outreach and Extended Educationt.

What is the off-campus tuition?

What is an online engineering course at ASU?

The courses and materials are provided through an Internet connection. Lectures are presented via streaming media and includes video along with other visual materials as seen in the classroom. Books, exams, and course packets are still paper-based. Online students have access to all other online resources offered by the university in the same manner as the on-campus students.

What are the minimum system requirements?

  • Sound card and speakers
  • Color monitor capable of 800x600 resolution
  • High speed Internet connection capable of 150 kbps transfer rate
  • Windows Media Player 8 or newer

Once admitted into the program can I take a semester or two off without penalty or having to re-apply?

No, Any graduate student who has not been in attendance at the university for one semester must submit an application for readmission to the Division of Graduate Studies. The application should be submitted at least one month before the beginning of the semester in which the student plans to reenter.
