- Course Description
-
This on-line program covers design, construction, and project management issues for today's fast moving, high-tech cleanroom construction process. Industry experts provide instruction on such topics as the manufacturing process, project organization and project delivery, building codes and code compliance, mechanical and environmental system issues, electrical systems, construction safety, cleanroom protocol, and process tool installation.
- Course Facilitator
-
Dr. Allan D. Chasey leads this program and provides the interactive learning atmosphere. Dr. Chasey has over 20 years of construction industry experience and is Director of CREATE, Construction Research and Education for Advanced Technology Environments, at ASU. This research consortium brings together 20 of the most well known companies that own, design, and construct advanced technology facilities such as semiconductor fabrication facilities.
- Who Should Attend
-
This course is designed to support the industry needs of owners, designers, constructors and suppliers who are involved in or are interested in the design, construction, and project management of advanced technology facility construction. The course will provide an excellent foundation for industry people to understand the concepts and ideas behind the design and construction of today's controlled environment facilities with the goal of improving the final facility product for the owner.

Program Modules
- Design Issues Modules
-
These on-line program modules cover the design issues associated with development of a modern semiconductor fabrication facility. Industry experts will explain the programming process and the issues surrounding the decisions made regarding the structure, HVAC systems, ultra pure water, chemical and gas systems, electrical and life safety systems, the automated material handling systems and preparing for installation of process tools. An introduction to building codes and code compliance issues is also available.
- Construction Operations Modules
-
These on-line program modules cover the issues associated with advanced technology facility construction. Industry experts will help you to understand the issues surrounding the organization and project management decisions made regarding estimating, scheduling, permitting, startup and commissioning, and certification for a modern semiconductor manufacturing plant.
- Code Compliance Issues Modules
-
This program is to provide members of the design and construction community with advanced tools for the development of cost effective means to achieve expedited code compliance in semiconductor facilities. The presentations discuss a variety of problematic code issues that frequently plague the development of new and retrofit wafer fab projects. While special emphasis is given to facilities used for the manufacturing of semiconductor products, the information provided is applicable to other types of projects in which compliance with the strict letter of the codes is either difficult or practically impossible.
- Project Management for Advanced Technology Facilities Modules
-
Learn valuable insight into dealing with the management and project delivery issues (design, construction and startup) as it relates to advanced technology facilities. This program will help you gain an understanding of basic project management and organizational concepts that will help to reduce the costs of projects and bring them online in a timely manner.
